Representative Project Experience: Privatizing Military Housing

Construction Consulting Services for Privatization of Military Housing at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, NC; Marine Corps Air Stations, New River and Cherry Point, NC; and Stewart Terrace Air Force Base, Newburgh, NY

Government Services IPT provided construction consultation, document and plan review, construction monitoring review, and review at substantial and final completion for the privatization of military housing at the locations listed above.

This contract was under the Public-Private Venture Program (PPV), pursuant to the Navy’s privatization of military housing. The development plan includes new master-planned communities, single-family homes for General Officer Quarters, Officer Quarters, duplex homes for Enlisted Quarters, and Community Centers. The project had three phases, involving the construction of 2,041 new homes and six new community centers, the renovation of 2,455 homes, and the demolition of 2,921 homes. The total construction cost was more than $600 million and the project duration was eight years.
