Representative Project Experience: Warrior Transition Unit, National Naval Medical Center

Government Services IPT was contracted to produce the design-build Request for Proposal (RFP) documents and provide construction plan review services for new facilities to support the Warrior Transition Unit (WTU) relocation from the Walter Reed Army Medical Center as part of a new premier military health command. After awarding of the design-build contract, Government Services IPT provided post-award construction consulting services to the NAVFAC Washington construction management team. This project consisted of a 145,000 SF administrative facility that includes a 70,392 SF fitness center above a multi-story, cast-in-place, 203,400 SF parking garage. An additional structure includes a 280,519 SF bachelor enlisted quarters and dining facility.

Government Services IPT provided support to NAVFAC to develop, design, and build the support facilities for the WTU at the new Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, MD, as part of the DoD's Base Closure and Realignment Commission (BRAC) Plan. This project has reformed how our military services care for wounded members of the military and continue to update policies and increase staff to meet the needs of the military members and their families.
